Your Estate in One Place Program - Because You Care!
When a loved one dies, those left behind may have to respond to pressing estate issues and time-sensitive responsibilities while deep in grief. You can relieve some of their pain and sorrow by preparing in advance to make this process easier.
Upon the death of her husband in 2019, Brenda Grantham experienced the challenges of dealing with a complex estate while grieving the loss of her best friend. Though it was still difficult, Brenda had the benefit of a well-organized plan to guide her through those hazy days. She came to realize few people plan for their passing, and she also became aware of the complications that arise when clear direction is not provided. This experience, combined with her 38 years in the financial industry, have fueled her passion to create AEPS Estate Planning Services to provide peace of mind to grieving families.
Brenda's program advises and directs you on how to gather together all your important information and create a personalized Estate Directory (physical or digital) for you to leave for your loved ones, so that they can handle your estate in the manner you would want. Brenda provides consultations via Zoom or in person. You will never be asked for your personal information and nothing confidential is ever sent to her in any manner. You are provided with the structure, one-on-one coaching, handouts and forms for you to complete your directory. Please see the Testimonials tab to learn more about how this program has made a difference!
Brenda’s financial expertise runs deep, including Regional Sales Manager with a major mortgage company; running a successful investment practice; and working with Atlas Estate Planning Services Ltd., her husband’s company, to assist with Corporate Estate Planning. Brenda is a member in good standing with FP Canada (CFP), the Canadian Institute of Certified Executor Advisors (CEA) and the Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning Studies (EPC). As a member, she is held to the highest competency and ethical standards in the industry, which includes putting her clients’ interests above all else.
WHY SHOULD YOU HAVE AN ESTATE DIRECTORY?
- Have you ever heard of someone passing, and after their funeral their final wishes were found in their safety deposit box? By that time, it is too late!
- There are currently over 300,000 deaths per year in Canada (2022 statista.com). Just under 20 percent are younger than age 65. We are all going to die yet we procrastinate putting our affairs in order, and our loved ones are left to deal with everything at a time when they are overcome with grief. Why not help by putting as much in order in advance, to make it easier for them?
- It saves your spouse/partner/family from having to dig through all your files looking for important documents (phone numbers, contacts, and so forth), that they will need access to as soon as you pass. Your Estate Directory gives them everything they need in one place.
- It helps your family deal with all outstanding estate issues, and ensures that large amounts of money belonging to the beneficiary/beneficiaries, are not left unclaimed.
- Those who have a spouse/partner might at least know something about the estate affairs of the household, but in the event something happened to both people at the same time, or to someone who lives alone, it can be a nightmare for the family to figure out things.

BRINGING YOU PEACE OF MIND
An Estate Directory gives the people left behind the tools to move forward knowing that they are handling your estate in the manner you would want, and in the most efficient way possible. Settling estates can take one or more years, and your efforts in putting together an Estate Directory will be an invaluable tool. What a wonderful gift to provide to your family!
